Front Porch Talks

Front Porch Talks are held most Sundays after church as a way of continuing our education and mission. As the name implies, this is a relaxed gathering of adults who want to learn more about and get involved in the many social justice, environmental and charitable activities in Buffalo. We explore every things from Native American rights, to the Buffalo Tool Library, to understanding the weather (an essential in Buffalo!) As well as Refugee programs, environmental initiatives, peacemaking and many other topics. But far from just talking bout this things, you are invited to consider working on a temporary or extended basis to make a difference in the lives we learn about.

Kenmore Presbyterian Troop 539 was founded in 1917, making it one of very oldest troops in the United States, and it continues to be a driving force for good in this community to this day. You can find information about our (co-ed) Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts below.

Anyone who visits the church campus can not help but be impressed by the flowers and landscaping that are the work of the Kenmore Gardening Club.

Garden Club

Meets every month to discuss the best works of fiction and non-fiction in the US. They would welcome new ideas and books to explore.

Book Club

For more than 40 years, KenPres has been involved in feeding and supporting those among us who are in difficulty. Currently we are able to staff our food pantry on the third Saturday of each month as well as provide a 24/7 Food pantry box on the grounds of the church. We also partner with St Mark’s Lutheran (where we are housed) to provide a full hot community meal on the same day as the Food Pantry. There are no restrictions on who can be served.

Kenmore Presbyterian Church was certified as an EarthCare Congregation by the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)'s Presbyterian Hunger Program in 2023.

The Earth Care Congregation certification is designed to recognize churches that make the commitment to take seriously God’s charge to “till and keep” the garden.

This status speaks to the serious commitment that KenPres has made to care for God’s earth.

This congregation affirmed an EarthCare Pledge to integrate environmental practices and thinking into our worship, education, facilities, and outreach.

At KenPres our understanding of who God is is rooted in the respect and stewardship of God’s Creation and peoples.

EarthCare
